I find the following video very offensive. I agree that all this and more is true, but at the same time it makes Pakistan look like some primitive country where women are clubbed and dragged into caves by cavemen.  It is definitely not true.     Just to build a parallel, I’d like to quote this website:   AMERICAN RAPE [...]   ››More

I really respected President Barrack Obama, and have been quite hopeful that he’d be instrumental in undoing the damage America has caused to the world.  Unfortunately, today he has shattered any hope that could have been attributed to him.  I quote: US President Barack Obama has warned Iran that “theworld is watching“, after its supreme leader [...]   ››More

I am amazed. Midnight:  Express and Geo try to outdo each other giving disastrous coverage of the “child kidnapping” train story. 2:45AM: ARY is running a ticker that the whole story was false, and the kid who had “escaped” was actually running away from home. 3AM:  Samaa is still saying that there are kids kidnapped in a train, [...]   ››More

In a recent article in The National of Abu Dhabi, Mr. Zafar Malik, a former head of news and current affairs at CNBC Pakistan and Samaa is quoted as saying “The leading political chat show hosts all open their shows with statements like ‘today, we will create a consensus’ or ‘today, we will establish …’. In fact, [...]   ››More

“Love marriage takes life of newly wed youth” is how the headline reads. We read news like this just about every day, if not more than once a day. My question is from all the “ulema”, religious leaders, Imams of mosques, [ Read Full Article ]   ››More

A lot of debate ensued before I could convince a TV channel to let me do a show like Ankahi.  There was always a demand for a political show per se; while I felt there was a need for a show that dealt with “real issues of real people”.  The journey had started with Loose [...]   ››More

In a recent conversation, I was told that I’m too “tameezdar (well-mannered)” to be able to go tough with politicians.  I was accused of not having the courage to do politicial interviews since I’m too scared to ask  straight-forward questions.  I spent a little while trying to explain the difference of tough/straight-forward and useless, but [...]   ››More

In the past one week, I’ve come across at least 10 different groups trying to do their own little thing to collect funds or materials for the internally displaced persons crisis.  What I don’t understand is that why aren’t they all working under the same umbrella?  Why must every small group make their own effort?
