lessons learned:
1) save for the rainy days.
2) travel with a partner. Pross: travel agent can make double commission and porter also gets double tip… Con: you get a dent in your pocket
Recession is global, we Asians are kind of lucky that we have habbit of saving (maybe just a little), I’m really thankfull to my mom who taught me to live within my means…
Also family support system in Pakistan also helps during bad times. (If you loose your house then you can live with your parents or siblings..)
but here in America its pretty bad…
Ohhh! I totally forgot to blame someone…
well…hmmmm…to blame someone for my financial issues… lets blame “credit card companies”, they showed me a way to spend more than what I earn…yup…its their fault…
I agree with you Faisal that akhir mai bechara ghareeb hi pista hai (in your example: porter), middle class and upper class to idhar udhar say kisi tarha apna bachao kar hi laiti hai…
ghareeb jo pahlay hi daal roti kha raha hai wo aur kia saving karay ga!!!!
